Sunscreen Has Gone To The Dogs

Sunscreen

I consider myself pretty sunscreen savvy–I slather the stuff on myself daily. But when it comes to my pets, I’ve always been on the lookout for sunscreen that’s safe for animals (as they can end up licking it off inadvertently).

For my white/brindle dog (and orange tabby cat), I finally found the perfect product made just for them. Epi-Pet Sun Protector Spray is a pet-gently sunscreen that reduces both UVA and UVB exposure. The spray is equivalent to 30 to 40 SPF in human sunscreen, smells like vanilla and contains gentle vitamin E.

It’s the only sunscreen in the pet industry that meets the FDA’s ingredient testing standards and is recommended for short and thin haired pets, white and light haired pets, white and pink skinned pets, hairless dog breeds, breeds predisposed to skin tumors (i.e. boxers, dobermans, bull dogs, pit bull terriers, bull terriers, bichons, poodles, schnauzers and others), outside pets, shaved down pets, pets with allergic and inflamed skin, working dogs, and pets subjected to excessive sun exposure as during activities such as boating, hiking, visits to the dog park, walking and visits to the beach.

The sunscreen helps prevent sunburns, especially on light skinned pets, reduces exposure to damaging UVA and UVB sun rays, and protect against the development of malignant skin tumors such as melanomas, carcinomas, sarcomas and mast cell tumors type II.

It is the only pet sunscreen that meets the FDA guidelines for ingredient stability, it’s waterproof, available in a quick dry formulation, is non-greasy, the unique bag on valve spray can is environmentally friendly and it provides a constant spray from all angles.

Awesome, thanks for the post, I was just thinking this weekend (as I was out at Venice beach with my two dogs) that I need to find some sunscreen that is safe for dogs (or try to invent some ;) ).

Certainly glad to have come back for a visit. Take care, Juliet.

Scott: Glad I could help! I use this sunscreen on my cat, too.
