I consider myself pretty sunscreen savvy–I slather the stuff on myself daily. But when it comes to my pets, I’ve always been on the lookout for sunscreen that’s safe for animals (as they can end up licking it off inadvertently).
For my white/brindle dog (and orange tabby cat), I finally found the perfect product made just [...]

I’ve already mentioned why I rescued Greta, but here’s yet another reason: the Tucson Dog Protection Act, a ballot measure designed to improve the lives of dogs in South Tucson and, especially, the 540 greyhounds at Tucson Greyhound Park.

So far, they have 13 episodes in the can, and the next two are about animal behavior (June 29) and pet nutrition (July 6).

While it may be convenient to use your garden hose to fill your dog’s outside water dish, or even your doggie/kiddie swimming pool, take note - there is potential for water from a garden hose to be tainted with lead.

Where the old school rule of thumb was that all dogs needed all vaccinations, these days, veterinarians are taking a different tact when it comes to doling out shots.
For example, I have a dog and two cats, so while we lean toward more canine vaccinations because she’s outside a lot, the cats get less shots because [...]

Gardening may be one of your favorite activities, but it can also be a place full of dangers for your pooch.
If you decide to bring new plants or flowers into your garden beds, first check to be sure they aren’t poisonous or deadly to pets if ingested (see below for toxic plants, such as lilies, daffodils and hyacinths). Ask [...]
