Obey Your Local Leash Laws

Leash laws are no joke in Palm Springs, Calif. On Rancho Mirage’s Butler-Abrams Trail, the City Council has taken action to help remind everyone that dogs always need to be on a leash. Signs indicating leashes are required were installed on the trail, and city staff now patrol the area each morning.
Over in La Quinta, city staff used to give warnings to anyone caught walking his or her dog without a leash. Soon, the problem was so bad that staff began issuing citations immediately.
Off leash dogs lead to more bites and more impregnated dogs, according to officials.
The bottom line is that although leashes don’t eliminate issues, they allow owners to keep their dogs under more control than they would be able to off leash.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of retractable leashes for a variety of reasons, the leats of which is the fact that they are flimsy and easy to yank out of a hand. I prefer sturdy leashes, like these.

Here’s what to watch out for:

According to the APCC, NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen or naproxen are the most [...]
My distaste for puppy mills notwithstanding, I’m pleased to report that, stepping away from its reputation as “The Puppy Mill Capital of the East,” the Pennsylvania Legislature passed HB 2525 on October 8, a bill that will improve the lives of tens of thousands of dogs living in Pennsylvania’s puppy mills.
HB 2525 doubles the cage [...]
Two years ago today, my husband and I rescued Greta, and our lives have never been the same since. Sure, it was hard in the beginning–after all, she was a puppy with no experiences outside of living in a wire crate 23 hours a day.
Slowly, she learned how to relax and live in a home. [...]
